It was a sunny Saturday morning In Cape Cod. I was at my grandparents house for the week with my sister, because the rest of my family was away. My grandparents were going on a boat ride and they had asked me to pick up the sticks in their yard and mow the lawn(since a storm had hit a couple days ago) while my sister got to go swimming and hang out by the beach in front of the house.

      I was in the house when they told me to do the chores and I didn’t argue because I figured if I did I would get in trouble. So I went into the backyard and I got to work. I decided to pick up the sticks first because I figured that it would be easier to mow the lawn after I had picked up the sticks. While I was picking up the sticks all  I was thinking the entire time was how hot it was outside and how much I wanted to go swimming in the water. After picking up all the sticks I headed up the gray rocky steps to find the lawnmower and decided to get to work on that job. It took a long time to mow the lawn and it felt like it was getting 5 degrees hotter every second but after I was done I turned it off and headed up to the porch. When I turned around to look at the backyard from above I didn’t think about how long it took all I thought about was how good it felt to be finally done and how much better the lawn looked. In the end I was happy with all the work that I had done.

     Sometimes when you do a chore at the start you might think that it is a waste of time. Sometimes you might think that the chore you have to do is annoying, but in the end it might not turn out that bad. Because the chore that you are asked to do is for a reason, probably because it’s very helpful. 

   
   Sometimes doing a chore can be annoying, but it might not be horrible once it’s over. So next time someone asks you to do a chore go and do it because it’s helpful in the end.
