“We need the tonic of wildness...At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.”

~ Henry David Thoreau,

Laziness is my middle name. I don’t want to get up in the morning, I don’t want to do work. But I had to do work and I knew that. I had to write a entire reflection in a single night, which was probably the hardest paragraph of all. I knew I had to at least attempt to do this tonight. I had to at least put in some effort. I knew if I put in effort, Ill get something back.

An Experience with a Friend

A Experience with a Friend

A little company can help a big problem

“As soon as I saw you, I knew a grand adventure was about to happen.”

~Winnie The Pooh

Tough times, can be overcome easily. Some company, and just someone to be around and talk to, can fix them for me. Many things can be fixed with just being with a friend, but one of them, stuck with me. I just needed someone to bring up back from the ground when I fell, and someone to be around.

Music Memoir/Mentor

Music Mentor

The smallest people, can have the biggest impact

“A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself.”

~Oprah Winfrey

Some people with talent, can affect you in the biggest way. Some artists, affect me, in a meaningful and impactful way. Some artists, can put so much emotion and heart into their music, that they can affect you personally, and put their emotion into your own mind. One artist, is Tupac. His songs are extremely meaningful, and if you listen to the lyrics carefully, they tell a story, and not just a bunch of words. His background is interesting, and that’s what he sings about. He can make a song, with just the story of his own life. He can put emotion into his music that can hit you right in the face, and leave you thinking about what he just said. Some artists, are exactly like him, and its easy to find a favorite artists that can teach you as many lessons as him. All you have to do, is listen. I found emotion in my music, so you can too.

The Power of Chores

Work

“Concentrate all your thoughts upon te work in hand. The suns rays do not burn until brought to a focus.”

~Alexander Graham Bell

Chores, is what I hate. Chores are boring, stupid, useless and just way too time consuming. Even though I hate them it is necessary to do them. No matter how much you hate them. I learned this when my parents first started to make me do some work around the house. It wasn’t a fun day for me.

Narrative Story

The Price of Freedom

“Freedom lies in being bold”

~Robert Frost

Usually I get home around 11 every night, and I say hello to my parents and I go to bed. I never see my mom often during the day, and my dad drives me around but I still don’t really talk with him a lot. So when it was time to stay with my parents all day during break, I tried to avoid them. I would sit in my room all day, go out with friends, and evade my parents. But sometimes I would have to be with them, and to be honest it’s kinda awkward how they always try to rope me into meaningless conversations.

Tom Sawyer Literary Reflection

Tom Sawyer Literary Reflection

Childhood at its finest

CF567D46-F012-45D9-8B58-FFED7825F5D7“Adults are just obsolete children and the hell with them.”

~ Dr Seuss

Childhood is where we all start. Sometimes, I can’t imagine, how much more work we have to do in adulthood, and how we have it easy. If you want to do less work, enjoy it now, because later in life, it’ll just get harder and harder. You might have to do work sometimes, but don’t get down about it, enjoy it. I planned to read Tom Sawyer last minute, because I didn’t want to do work. I didn’t want to do something hard, as I was a child and anybody in the middle of childhood wouldn’t want to do it either. But I made myself do it. After the first couple sentences and a couple of breaks, I started to get into the story. The story just got better and better as I went along, and finally, I made it to the end a lot faster than I expected. I didn’t want to do work, and that’s just the way childhood is and how young boys act. But after I started, and it wasn’t too great, I realized I was making this boring for myself. I realized that I had to make it fun, instead of just pouting about it. Childhood and boyhood is the best part of your life. Just enjoy what your doing, and live in the moment. Your childhood can be the best part of your life or the worst, but its up to you to decide which one you want it to be.

The Power of Music

The Power of Music

The smallest things, can help the biggest problems

“Without music, life would be a mistake”

~Friedrich Nietzsche

Music has a big impact in people’s lives. Music impacts me, in many ways, and I use it for many reasons. I use it to keep me focused while doing work, I use it to pump me up for sports games, and many other things. It has a big impact on my life. One time, while I was pretty sad because of a school grade, I sat in my car and just listened to music. The music distracted me, and swept me away from reality as I was so immersed in the lyrics of the song. I forgot all of the bad things happened so far in the day, and used music to clear up my mind, and just to relax. This is only one example of when I used it, and this is only one example of a way I can use it. There are many other times, that I just used music to relax, and reset the day. It doesn’t matter what happened, I just need something else to think about. Sometimes, you just need the smallest things, to clear up the biggest problems.

The Power of Respect

    The Power for Respect

Why respect is the most important value

74D7D37E-57BF-4DC1-A90B-E8184084ED80

“I speak to everyone in the same way, whether he is the garbage man or the president of the university.”

~ Albert Einstein

Give respect to get respect. People will treat you well, if you give them your respect. I’ve learned through many experiences, that to receive respect, you give respect. Even if its something your not interested in.

Empathy, Bigotry & Marginalization

Empathy, Bigotry & Marginalization

86420D8E-9398-4A7A-B8E0-BFB601848182“What a sad era when it is easier to smash a atom than a prejudice”

~Albert Einstein

Marginalization isn’t a good, for someone’s life. I never want to be left out and marginalized, but still I witness too much of it, and i never do anything about it. Some people don’t want to be left out, so they do stuff to other people to fit in. I’ve witnessed this many times, and its not a good feeling for the person that its happening to. In the beginning of a school year, you start to meet new people, and make new friends. Someone that I knew, was attempting to be friends with a kid, but they weren’t exactly the people with the same interests. So what happened was, the kid was trying to fit in, but he really wasn’t going to be able to if he didn’t do something that they liked or found funny.

A Solitary Walk

Thinking...

B6EEA716-DBA1-401E-8B1D-99B876AA7C27

“All truly great thoughts are conceived while walking”

~Friedrich Nietzsche

A walk can clear your mind. It can free you from whatever’s bothering you, and gives you time to think. It can cause the deepest memories to feel like yesterday, and create memories that you will remember forever. It can make you move on from the most bothering things, and it can even make you remember to do your homework.
