“A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.”
-Walter Winchell

Friends make you feel better in life. My friends have made me feel better after a sad loss. When I was nine years old, my 12 year old dog named Lucy died from kidney failure. I had been with her my whole entire life, and it was extremely sad for my family and I. Even though my friends didn’t know the news right away, their presence was already making me feel better.

The Sniper Literary Reflection

The Sniper Literary Reflection

The sniper was an excellent, suspenseful, and great story. When I read the sniper, I was hooked until the end where the climax happens. When I looked at the sniper, I noticed that it was a very short story, about four or five pages. I figured that this story would be a simple and easy read. as I started the story, the book was really well written and it made it easy for me to understand, as I progressed, the book started to explain what was happening. I noticed that I liked suspenseful and thrilling stories like this even though it was a very short book. The story really explains the details and surroundings of the sniper and what is happening to him. When the sniper was shot by the enemy, it was kind of a surprise as I was not expecting this to happen. I likes how the story builds up until the part where the sniper comes up with a plan. The plan was simple, yet genius. As the sniper shot the enemy, I felt a sense of accomplishment and success for the sniper, only to figure out that the sniper had shot his brother, who was the enemy. I did not expect the book to end like it did. I caught me completely off guard. I thought about the book more on what would happen next after the sniper figured out that the enemy, the person he was trying to kill—and succeeded—was his brother. In the end, I really liked the story and the unexpected twist at the end, and I look forward to read more stories like this.

Through the Tunnel Literary Reflection

Literary reflection

Throughout the book “Through the tunnel,” the suspense kept me hooked the whole time. As I started the book, I found it not so exciting and suspenseful as I thought it would be. As I kept reading, I looked for words I didn’t know, different phrases, and overall themes. I started to get interested in the book as Jerry met the boys who didn’t speak his language. The description of the scenery at the beach is amazing. I felt Jerry’s sense of failure as he watched the boys swim through the tunnel when Jerry knew he couldn’t. Although Jerry couldn’t make it through the underwater tunnel right away, he worked hard and kept practicing. The book really gets into how persistent and preserving Jerry is in trying to accomplish his goal of descending into the dark ocean and swimming through a tunnel. He kept trying every day despite his constant nose bleeds and headaches. I loved this part of the book, because it really makes you want to know what happens next. On the second to last day of Jerry’s stay at the vacation home, Jerry decides to accomplish his goal, even if he died trying. As he went through the tunnel, all of the descriptions of the underwater sea life and the tunnel, made it really interesting and suspenseful. As Jerry swims through the tunnel, you can almost feel what he is feeling as he explains that he has a massive headache and his lungs are exploding. When he comes up from the water, it feels good to know that Jerry has completed his goal for the week at this beach. In all, I really liked this short story and how suspenseful and exciting it was, and I would love to read more stories like this in the future.

your only enemy you can’t live without

Siblings are all we ever need in life. Whenever I’m bored and don’t know what to do, I go to either of my younger sisters and hang out with them. I’ve never thought about how important siblings are to you, but they have been with you their whole life, and you need to stick up for them. The one time I’ve only really thought of sticking up and caring about my sisters was during a skiing trip.
