Moving
Why moving can seem sad, but in reality it’s not
Cleaning out the past, packing up the present, and preparing for a much better future - unknown
During quarantine, it seems like nothing is possible. You have to sit at home all day and you never have anything to do. Well that is a bit different for my family. We are moving to Concord in two weeks, and I’m pretty excited.
First of all our new house is really cool. We have a pool, which we have never had in any of our houses. Our new house is also going to be bigger than our house right now, and that is good because our family definitely needs some space away from each other.
We’re moving in two weeks, and even though it is exciting, we have to do a ton of work. Every day we are packing and throwing away furniture, and it is a lot of manual labor. I’ve had to lift shelves, tables, cabinets, The list goes on. We haven’t started the packing phase yet, but once we do it’s going to be a ton of work. We’ve mostly gotten rid of all of our trash, so I guess that’s somewhat of a Headstart. And even after we’re all settled in, we’re going to need to move and new furniture, we’re going to have to paint the walls, and we’re gonna have to do some renovations on the house.
I’ve only ever moved houses once in my life, and it was when I was really young. This is going to be a really good experience to have, especially when there is nothing to do at all because of the pandemic. About a year ago, I hated the idea of moving. I never wanted to leave my house, because I just like this house so much. I’ve gotten so used to it, that I couldn’t even imagine the thought of living in a different house for the rest of my life, or at least most of it until college. But now that I Think about it, it doesn’t seem so bad. I’m only moving one town over, and I got to go to an awesome high school for it. I will get to make new friends in the neighborhood, I’ll be able to bike to Sorrento’s every day and get fat, and most of all I will have a great time in high school.
Moving can be tough, both physically and mentally, but I’m guessing once it’s all done, it will be just perfect (or at least pretty close).
Ah..., you have come to join my old hometown, and I am glad to see that you're excited about the move. It's also great to know that you are in the midst of something positive in a world of things that are not so positive. Have a good move and keep writing like this!
