Dragon Teeth

It was the one of the very first days of online school. I navigated my way through Zoom, for I had never used it before, and I logged into an English class. I was curious about how our class would change since we are doing distance learning, but it turns out our English agenda is relatively the same. Despite not being in person, we still continue to do weekly assignment sheets which we have been doing all year. I opened the link on Fitz’s blog to the first weekly assignment sheet and scrolled through, getting a taste of what our week would look like. I neared the end of the sheet and noticed a few particular assignments. Reading Logs #1, #2, and #3.

I shortly discovered that it was a free read, meaning I had the choice to read any book I wanted, but I did not have any books in mind. I knew I needed some assistance finding a book, so I needed to find someone to ask. I decided that the right person to ask would be my uncle Steve. Steve and I are similar, we are very goofy, have similar interests like skiing and surfing, and spend a lot of time together. I knew he would have some books in mind that I would love. He ended up pulling 5 books out for me to choose from. Mostly books written by Michael Crichton, his favorite author. He told me that there are 2 particular ones that he thought I would like the most, one of them being Dragon Teeth, the book I chose. The other one had something to do with futuristic technology, and it was like a thriller book I think. I decided to go with Dragon teeth.

Dragon teeth has been a very good read for me so far. Like my uncle Steve said, it is pretty fast paced, the story progresses quickly and keeps you interested. Which it did. When I sit down on my couch in New Hampshire, looking out at the lake to read a book, it does not feel like I am being dragged through a slow, boring experience. It jumps right to the main idea in the story. An unexpected adventure to look for fossils.

I still have a lot more ahead of me in this book. I have had a lot going on recently, despite being at home all day, so I need to figure out a way to carve out more time for reading. I hear all the time that reading is good for you, and a good substitution for look at a screen. Maybe... just maybe, Dragon Teeth will help me understand that
