Whether You Like It or Not

“The people I'm stuck with in my life now aren't sucking the life out of me, they just suck.”

~Melina Marchetta

        F
riendship always lingers in the instance of contiguity. No matter the confines we find our self in, or the extremity of the restraints, no matter the auxiliary in which you can increment to the circumscriptions, distance nor time could suppress our connection to each other. Whether this maxim to which our friendship stringently abides is inauspicious to your current demeanor, whether you have endured nuisance after nuisance, quagmire after quagmire to be demeaned by our vitriolic nature, whether you frankly just want to be left alone, they are always there. It was over this past summer, when I aggregated enough evidence to support this implicit truth.

Power of Place

The Power of Thinking

Round and Round We Go

“The unexamined life is not worth living”

~Socrates

Your thinking spot; an atmosphere of serenity, where your thoughts mingle and thrive. Where my thoughts find their way in a mental asylum of discourse to be relinquished of their worth and reduced to an idea(the novice stage of a thought), resuming cycle of thoughts; thinking. When I need to alleviate my mind of the thoughts, suppress the ongoing cacophony in my brain I seek my spinning chair in which I can let the birds fly. What is the average office business chair; used for the leisure sit down and dawdle on the computer, turns into an abode in which my thoughts can be safely regarded. A key, in which can unlock the floodgates. Given to me as a gift, to furnish my empty bedroom, alongside a desk supposed to be used for the purpose of studying, after the move from Ghana to America. This spinning chair and I have been through a lot of turns physically and emotionally. Through these rounds in the chair, scanning the current being of my life and my room, the spinning chair has always been there.

The Power of Brotherhood

The brother I never had

“To find yourself, think for yourself.”

~Socrates

You’ll realize who’s there for you when you’re at your worst. It was myself I found when I was stranded in the dark and desolate abyss. In times of solitude and longing, when I felt like I was alone in the world. I found solace in my thoughts, keeping myself entertain and occupied when I felt lonely in this rife yet insufficient world. A preoccupied world, and me, without a destination. Never in my life had my thoughts become so essential to me; never was the lack of a sibling so apparent to me; never have I ever been so inundated with nostalgia for the friends I once had other than my move from Ghana to America. All for the sake of what? A mystery.

My Ideal Pet

What pet would I want and why

7CF10B08-32FC-4F33-96D2-5FC3293858CA

I have always wanted a pet; a companion in which you could bond with. As an only child in someways you are forced to rely on friends as that companion, though when you have a pet you know for sure it is going to be there. It is up to you to determine it’s meaning in your life. I don’t want a dog, a hyperactive beast with a brusque attention span. Doing it’s business all over the house, and it is my business to clean up after him. Running around longing for attention, pestering me incessantly to take it for a walk, no, I for sure don’t want a dog. I want a pet which has appeal , but it is not because of all the raucous it provides; one that is patient, but it is not longing of companionship. A pet that is to itself, but in the right company it can be open; I want a pet like me.

Which is why in my thought, I decided if I were to have a pet I would go for a chameleon. A chameleon is an interesting creature; most of them are self reliant for if you were to put them in a cage with one of their own, without the proper condition things could get hostile. Chameleons are a picturesque animal, their colors can vary based on the temperature of the environment they find their selves in and their current mood. I find myself to be an observant person, which is why if I were to have a chameleon I would be able to appreciate it a lot more than the average person.

A chameleon would be my ideal match because I feel like I can relate to it and understand it, unlike potential experiences with other animals.

The Windsor Mountain Essay

How Far We’ve Come

The Beginning of the End

Without new experiences, something inside of us sleeps. The sleeper must awaken.

— Frank Herbert

Beneath the forming of a conga line, evolution rock, paper, scissors, and running underneath peoples legs lies a treasure far greater than we can even comprehend. This treasure may not be visible at the moment, nor it is physical; though when one is able to ascertain the knowledge of this treasure, and experience it, is when one can get an understanding of its capabilities. This treasure I speak of is the virtue of brotherhood. Brotherhood: a strong friendship forged between boys or men, which implies a sense of belonging between the members. Fortunately, in my time at Fenn, I have had the opportunity to observe and experience these bonds of brotherhood being manufactured even in my fifth year at Fenn. My time at Windsor Mountain has given me a greater appreciation of this brotherhood I am a part of in Fenn; the depth of its importance, as well an understanding of how far we have come.

No Limits....

Video Games & My Life...

A37583CC-FD34-4FF3-8DD8-0C4C895BCB2D

Click click, goes the controller as the young toddler intensely stares at the glossy flat screen TV, engaged in the motions and patterns being projected right before his eyes. Taking sips of his half-empty Coca-Cola right next to him, and handfuls of the rapidly depleting Doritos bag, the toddler knows there is little time for he can complete this level, before his parents whisk him away from the console. Then out of nowhere, a vivid creaking sound came from the stairway, the sounds grew dynamically louder with every step. Until the door swung wide open, to signify a mission failed, though a valiant effort.
