A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.~ Walter winchell

With friends comes memories. Over the years my friends and I have made many memories. A favorite memory I have made with one of my friends, is when Sam Goorno and I rode our bikes to one of our friends house. It was during the summer on a perfect day and we wanted to do something fun, so we decided to meet at Sams house and bike to Andrews house because we were very bored and wanted to do something.

Sam and I have already taken a few bike rides before this during the summer together but never this long. Before the summer started we said to each other that we were going to take more bike rides during the summer.

After I arrived at his house he was waiting for me in his driveway and we started our decent to his house. As we started riding we realized that we would need to stop a lot to check the directions because we didn’t have a phone prop on our bikes. We kept on losing track  because of this and  it was bringing us the long way after that. Even though we kept on missing our turns it was a very pleasant ride because there was a lot of swampy things, cool plants and amazing sceneries next to us during the ride. After missing about four turns we started pay way more attention and stated to gain time. After about a hour and a half we made a quick stop break at a ice cream place but we knew that we had be quick, so we got a frap and put it into our bikes. After about two hours in we felt so close even though we weren’t that close. Both four butts were hurting at about 2 hours and 15 minutes and we were almost there. We quickly rode through a hilly rode and we were pleased to her the sound of our friends dog barking in the backyard.

With friends comes memories and without memories life is more boring. When you have memory of something you can learn from it, laugh from it and and cry from it. I think that memories are a very important thing in life and I have more of them thanks to my friends.

Overall memories help you in many ways and so do your friends. Because my friends and I have made so many memories I will never forget my childhood and all of the fun I had.

The Sniper Reflection

The Sniper Reflection

think before your actions

~Ernest Agyemang Yeboah

Think before you do something. In the reading The Sniper I learned that you need to think before your actions. The main character in The Sniper made a quick decision during the story. This quick decision lead to a lot of guilt and remorse. I went to the library during this reading to prepare because it has worked for me during the past couple of readings. I like how it is very quiet and very few people are ever there. The reading didn't take me very long because it is very short and I was also used to doing these so I knew what to do. What I learned from The Sniper is you should think before doing something or it can lead to consequences. The sniper in the reading killed his brother with a quick shot during war, which lead to guilt and sadness. I think that the reading was worth it because it was my favorites reading yet and I truly enjoyed the story. It had a really good plot and I liked how the author put a twist in the end.

challenges are worth taking because success follows.

When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change ~ Paulo Coelho

A challenge is always worth taking because in the end it will be worth it. The Gift of the Magi challenged me to really read between the lines and figure out the meaning of the story.Reading the Gift of the Magi showed me how challenging it is to really think about what every sentence means and to expand on that. Also to understand what vocabulary words that I don’t know what they mean and to put them into a sentence. After I did this I could understand certain sentences that I didn’t understand before in the story. After I did this it was worth the challenge because I realized the morals of the story more.

Power of Place

Everyone needs a place to have fun

Wherever you go, your memories from the place you grew up in always remain special. ~ guru randhawa

Everyone needs a place to have fun. My basement is my spot to enjoy my free time and have fun. my basement is where I go after I am done with homework to relax. Sometimes I go down there to play mini basketball, other times I go down to play video games and sometimes I go down to hang out with friends.

My friends and I were down in my basement during a sleepover on a Friday during my 7th grade year. It was about 9 o’clock and we had the basement pitch dark.

During this night we mainly played this really fun game that we made up. The game is basically you turn all of the lights of so you can’t really see anything. Then we have this nerf axe that someone walks around in the pitch dark and tries to hit people with it as people try and hide. The goal is to either sneak up on the guy with the axe and take him down and steal the axe or hide for the longest and not get hit. We played this game for about an hour or two because it is so much fun to do. What the game would usually end up happening is that there would be a big pile of all of us on top of the guy with the axe as he would be hitting us. I think that my basement is the perfect place to play a game like this and to just have fun. This night down in my basement really brings out the true potential of having fun with your friends in a cool place. Without the basement we would of never had as much fun as we had that night and the game would have never been made. That is what a power of a place can do.

overall my basement has brought me many good memory’s and I have full faith that it will bring me more

Who would I be without my family

“My family is my life, and everything else comes second as far as what's important to me.”

~Michael Imperioli

Without family I wouldn’t be anywhere near the person I am today. Also, life would be so boring without my siblings and I wouldn’t try new things. My life would be so bland without hanging out with my brothers.

One example of my brothers and i hangout out was when my two brothers and I were at the beach during the summer of 2017 in New Hampshire, all of us had a boogie board and the waves were huge. The reason why we were down here is because we love the beach as a family and there were big waves that day. One story of my brothers and I hanging out was when we were at the beach during the summer of 2017 in New Hampshire, all of us had a boogie board and the waves were huge. The reason why we were down here is because we love the beach as a family and there were big waves that day. We got ready to go into the water by putting sunscreen on and getting our boogie boards. Then once we are ready we line up in a line and get ready to sprint. BAM were off to the races as we run as far into the water until we hit a wave and trip over into the water. That’s usually how my family we get into the ocean. The water is pretty so hilly but it not too bad and there isn’t any rocks in the water which is good for boogie boarding. As we start to head out a little farther we see a set of three big waves coming in. Then we say we all have to take the outsider which is the farthest wave out. So we float over the first two and get ready for the biggest one in the back. We start to paddle as fast as we can to catch the wave and I look to each of my sides and see that both of my brothers have caught it along with me. As I’m looking at my older brother I see the wave tearing over our heads as it lands on both of us and spits us out in front of it. Now my to brothers and I are all next to each other and we tried to hit each of the boards as we were riding in which is so much fun to do.

During this wave I didn’t care what people thought of me or if I had a good ride I just cared that I was in one of my favorite places with my favorite people. And how much less fun that ride would have been if my brothers weren’t there to do it with me.

As long as I’m with my family I’m happy.
