After a long time of practicing, our work will become natural, skillfull, swift, and steady. ~ Bruce Lee

At the start of the year I remember going into fitz’s class with no idea on how to write a good writing piece at all because I had never really been into a mainly writing English class. This meant that I was not prepared for the year that I was going to take on.

I remember getting my first writing assignment in Fitz’s class and it was the hardest writing assignment I have ever had, and when mr Fitz’s said this is the least of it I was worried for the year to come. After the first couple of weekly assignments I was struggling with the writing, but slowly getting better with all of the new comma rules and writing methods he was teaching us. After a good amount of weekly assignment sheets I started to get the hang of a fitz style journal entry and how to write a good writing piece by using all of the comma rules, and writing methods such as parallel structure.

Around midway through the years we started to read some books and I knew that we were going to do a writing piece about the books and I was frightened because ever since I learned how to read I have never been good at reading comprehension unless I read very slow, so I knew it was going to be a struggle. Whenever we had a reading due the next day I knew it was a long assignment, so I would usually do it during the car ride to my soccer practice and then do the writing for it when I get home. This is when I was back to struggling during the year because I could never understand what I was reading, so I had to write about what I remembered and I didn’t remember much, so my writing wasn’t at its peak during this time. Once my group finished the call of the Wild essay I figured that we were done with reading which was right and I was back to what I knew best which was rung about moments in my life which I can actually enjoy sometimes.

When we got back to the normal weekly assignment sheets I was way more confident and ready for the last couple months of the years and spring break was coming up too, so that was a plus. I only had to do two more weekly assignment sheets until it was time for spring break and this is when corona virus really started to pick up and become more serious. After not procrastinating and finishing up those two weeklys I had a feeling that I wasn’t gonna be back at the school for the rest of the year, which was correct, so I was gonna be doing all of my writing from now on at home. Once school started back up, so did the weekly assignment sheets, but I was prepared and ready for them, so on the first couple of weeks I didn’t procrastinate at all and got all my work done very fast, so I could relax and enjoy my week, but towards the end of the year I started to procrastinate and my work got a little bit sloppier. Towards the end of the school I started to really realize how much I improved when it comes to writing thanks to this class.

Thank you fitz for preparing me very well for high school writing.
