The Power of Friendship
you can still have fun with little differences
“A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.”
~ Walter Winchell
Small differences doesn’t mean you still can’t have fun. Sam Goorno and I skied and had very small differences in our skiing styles, but still had a lot of fun. Sam and I took our last hill down after 8 hours of skiing until the night skiing started and had fun the whole day even though we skied a little bit different. Then we had to wait for night skiing to start because we were having so much fun skiing, so we kept going. So Sam and I ended up sitting in the lodge at Sunday River waiting for the wheel chair to start up during a long weekend in the winter.
When we checked the clock to see what the time was and when we saw the time, we quickly bursted out of the lodge to get to the chairlift first. Once we got on top of the lift the trail was blocked off because they were grooming the snow. Once they released the rope closing the trail off Sam and I quickly zipped by everyone, so we were on the best snow on the mountain. The feeling of sweeping through the perfect snow like a cheetah with not a soul in sight is the most fun I’ve had in so long. After speeding down most of the hill I remembered that Sam and I are a little bit different skiing wise because he likes to work on his turns when he goes down, but I like to speed down. Even thought we have this little difference where I have wait sometimes for him because of our different styles of skiing this was still one of the most fun times I’ve had in a while. After the next couple of runs our small differences didn’t interfere once with how much fun we were having at the time.
During this time I was having so much fun even though we have small differences. This shows that it doesn’t matter if you and someone has a small difference you can always have fun with someone. The next time that you are doing something with someone and the two of you have a difference, you shouldn’t let that get in the way of having fun.I know that my friend and I’s differences were not that big, but we didn’t let it get in the way of having fun which is the most important part.
The broad theme is very specific, and you really tied into the theme the entire time especially in the conclusion. It was the perfect story for this topic.
