Stuck in my room

thinking about what this season could have been

this was the year

the year would become the player I always wanted to be

the year I would finally hit

finally be among the best fielders on the team

but no

it was all taken away from me

taken away from everybody

no spring sports

no teams

no hanging out with friends

only staying inside

NBA Awards Predictions

Screen Shot 2020-04-24 at 11.01.35 AM

As we know the NBA season has been suspended as well the other major sports season. What I will be doing is going through all of the awards and predicting who will win. First off rookie of the year. I think this award will go to Ja Morant. Ja averaged 18 points and 7 assists per game. Zion Williamson would have won if he had played the whole season, but he missed almost half of it. Next defensive player of the year. I think this award will go to Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers. Second would be Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks. 6th man of the year. This award is given to the best player who comes off the bench and doesn't start in games. This award I believe will go to Dennis Schroder of the Oklahoma City Thunder. He is averaging an incredible 19 points and 4 assists off the bench. Second place would Lou Williams of the LA Clippers. The most improved player would be Brandon Ingram of New Orleans Pelicans. He averaged 18 points last year and this year he is averaging about 24. this is a massive improvement. Second place would be Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat. Coach of the year I believe will go to Nick Nurse of the Toronto Raptors he led his team to a two seed after losing their star player. Second place would be Mike Budenholzer of the Milwaukee Bucks. Now MVP. I believe that the MVP will be the Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo he is averaging about 30 points per game and 14 rebounds per game. He is the obvious choice he has led his team to a 53-12 record and the best record in the NBA. Second place would probably be LeBron James he led his team to the second-best team in the NBA and having an amazing team passing wise. Lastly the NBA finals well if it happens. I think the finals will be Celtics vs. Lakers. I think the Celtics would win in six or seven games. I just think the Celtics have too much star power with Tatum, Walker, Brown, and Hayward. They have already beaten the Lakers by a big margin this year. Hopefully, this season will be salvaged and there will be more basketball

Moving My Sister Into College

By Rory Kennealy

There are always people that you are really close with. For me this is my family, my family is basically inseparable. We spend a lot of time together compared to most families. Last year this time was going to have to come to a close when we had to move sister into college.

It was August 20, 2019, my sister’s 18th birthday, also the day she was leaving for her pre-orientation trip for college. My brother and my mom and I were going to check her in and leave. We checked her in and left.

My brother and I were not sad at first, but once we got back into the car we started to cry. We knew that we weren’t going to see our sister that much. After we dropped her off we headed to the airport. My brother and mom and I were heading to California for a Disney convention. We got there and had an amazing week, filled with Disney parks, a Dodgers game, and three days at a Disney fan convention, but every day I was thinking about my sister. When we got back it was the day where we officially moved her into her dorm. It was tough we lifted heavy stuff, and. Decorated her half of her room. Then my mom and I singlehandedly put a futon together her and her roommates. After that, we ate in the dining hall with her. When we got back to her room my sister who never cries started to cry, and it was contagious everyone else started to cry. It was sad, but then I realized I had it easy. I could visit her a lot, and she was really close to me.

It didn’t matter that I cried, it didn’t matter that I didn’t get to see her as much as I did before, and It didn’t matter how close she was. All that matter was that I took a sad moment and looked on the bright side, and had a great time helping my sister move into college.

In the end, it might have been sad, but it got better and I looked on the bright side.

Vacation With Family and Friends

Spending time with friends and family is always fun

Spending time with my family and friends is time that I always cherish. One time that this happened that I remember the most is when my family when To Puerto Rico last year with some friends. Many people might not know this, but my family is very close and we spend a lot of time together, and our friends we treat like family.

Last March my family went to Puerto Rico. It was my family our friends the Hughes, my brother's friend AliJah, and 4 of my sister's closest friends. My sister brought most of her friends to celebrate her graduating from high school, but mostly we there to have fun.

I didn’t know what to expect spending 24 hours with friends, but I was hoping it would be exciting. We landed in San Juan, Puerto Rico at about 1:30 in the morning. Our drive to the hotel was through the dark and it had no street signs. Luckily my mom grew up in Puerto Rico so she knew her way around. We got there and our friends had trouble with their rooms and were talking with the front desk people for about an hour, finally, they fixed the problem. Our first day there we had breakfast and we sat by the pool The whole day. When it was time for dinner we packed 11 people into one taxi that was meant eight for nine. We got to the restaurant or so we thought, but it turned out we went to the wrong restaurant. My dad was not happy. On the following day, we went to a place called el Moro which is a citadel in the capital. When we got back to our hotel we left for the southern part of the island. This part of the trip was the best. Our days there were spent swimming, playing whiffle ball, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, and football. The highlight of the trip was our game of volleyball which got really heated. Our friends are really competitive, and so is my family. The game was going fine until my team got a point, and our friend's dad got really mad because he thought the ball hit the tree. My team won and we came back from down 17-10. Also, my brother's glasses got broken when my sisters boyfriend spiked the ball into them. At night we did karaoke in our room, which I don’t think the people staying above us Liked it. In the end, it was a great trip.

It didn’t matter who went with us, it didn’t matter that I didn’t know what to expect, and it didn’t matter what we did. All that mattered is that I had fun with my friends.

I’m glad I got to spend this time with my family and friends.

2018 World Series Game 4

Sports teaches you to never give up

Screen Shot 2020-04-08 at 11.45.24 AM

Victory is one of the best feelings you can have. For me, this feeling of victory came when the Red Sox beat the Dodgers in the World Series. As many people might know I am a big Boston sports fan especially a big Red Sox fan. in 2018 the Red Sox played in the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It was one of the best matchups, even though the Red Sox were heavily favored. Two historical teams, east vs. west it couldn’t get any better.

It was Saturday, October 27, 2018. Game four of the World Series in L.A. I was watching with my mom who is also a big fan. The Red Sox were up 2-1 in the series they had just played the longest game in World Series history (18 innings). bottom of the sixth inning bases loaded one out Cody Bellinger up to the plate. Ground ball to first base Steve Pearce throws home Vasquez throws wild to first base one run scores. Next Yasiel Puig. Eduardo Rodriquez remains in the game for the Red Sox. Bad decision Puig hits a three-run bomb the Dodgers go up 4-0. At this point, I angrily run upstairs to my room. I watch alone on my iPad in my bed. The next inning the Red Sox get some of it back with a three-run home run from Mitch Moreland. I run back downstairs in happiness. I realized the Red Sox now have a chance. The next inning the Red Sox tie it with a solo home run the World Series MVP Steve Pearce. At this point, I’m jumping up and down. In the 9th inning, the Red Sox exploded for 5 runs and they ended up winning game 4 of the World Series.

It didn’t matter that they were losing, it didn’t matter that I almost gave up on them, and it didn’t matter who was there with me. All that matters is that I felt that feeling of victory watching my favorite team play my favorite sport.

This is what I love about sports it is an emotional roller coaster. At one point I was angry and sad, and then I was jumping up and down.
