How Tom Sawyer Has Curiosity and Adventure Inside Him
While Tom was eating his supper, and stealing sugar as opportunity offered
- The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer (chapter 1) - Mark Twain
In this quote, Tom was eating his dinner and Aunt Polly turned away for a second. While she wasn’t looking, he snuck some sugar. He did this because he saw an opportunity and he took advantage of it. He was curious of the sugar and he wanted more. In the book, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Mark Twain portrays Tom as a boy that is full of adventure and curiosity. I read this book with adventure through the pages and always curious to keep reading to see what happens next.
There comes a time in every rightly-constructed boy's life when he has a raging desire to go somewhere and dig for hidden treasure. This desire suddenly came upon Tom one day- The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer
Tom every day wakes up, and wants to do something adventurous. Whether or not it’s with Huck, Joe, or Becky, he wants to adventure every day. He is inherently adventurous, he wants to know what’s out there he wants to find new places. He doesn’t care if he has to disobey people to do it. Tom has many other adventures in the book. He explores in a cave and gets lost, but he continues to adventures even after he gets trapped for multiple days. His attitude towards life is to explore he always wants to go out and find something new.
Curiosity drives every boy to do something new. In the book The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Tom is very curious and finds something to do when he gets that feeling of curiousness. Tom is always curious for new adventure. Tom one day woke up, and he found Huck just to dig for some random treasure. Tom does not know if he is going to find any treasure, but still his curiosity is pushing him forward. Tom is always curious. One night he is in a graveyard with Huck, and a murder happens abruptly. Another time, he was searching for treasure. When Tom wants to do something he does it. If he wants to dig treasure he does. He even explores deep into a cave with know idea how to get out. In this example, Tom gets the sudden urge to dig for treasure.
The adventure of the day mightily tormented Tom's dreams that night. Four times he had his hands on that rich treasure and four times it wasted to nothingness in his fingers as sleep forsook him and wakefulness brought back the hard reality of his misfortune. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, chapter 20
Tom is curious about what the world has in store for him. In his dreams his dream self gets treasure and riches. He has been hunting for his treasure for days. Any normal kid would have give up. But his curiosity pushes him further and further. A long time later he finds the treasure and he is rich. He has thousands of dollars. If it hadn’t been for his curiosity he wouldn’t have got rich. Lots of boys are curious. Tom might be the most curious of. There are many stories of when Tom sees something or hears something and is attracted to them because he is curious about it.
I could relate to this book in a way. Tom always likes to make trouble of trouble and be rebellious. I am not any of those things but I do have some character traits of my own. Tom realized at the end of the book that he needs to mature and I do too in a different way. I don’t go around causing trouble but I do try to cause attention to myself. Also Huck is always kind of the person who backs out of the situation where they could possibly get in trouble. Tom always still goes in. I am kind of like Tom. I always have the ideas where Sam and I could get in trouble. He always backs out but usually I do what he does.
Tom lived his childhood with curiosity and adventure. When he started to grow up, he realized that he had a very good life because of all the things he did because of the curiosity adventure. Tom taught me that adventure and curiosity offer a great life to live and it would be nice to live with those traits.
