Football

The experience
Football is my sanctuary, it’s where I go to escape, it’s where I’m most happy - Odell Beckham Jr.
“Set, YUT.” Behemoths of men crash into each other in pure chaos. The ball is thrown in the air and people dive on top of each other to stop the ball from reaching the receiver. This is the brilliant sport of Football.
Football is unbelievably complex, yet simple (I guess that could apply to anything). I could shout out to some one who doesn’t play football and say “go line up near the numbers, and run around and try to catch the football.” And (I think) they would understand that, but if I were to say “go be the x in pistol right.” The would look at me like, “Uh...”. This part of why I love football and find it so interesting. You have to be in shape, you have to be able to take hits, you have to be able to understand concepts and know formations+plays, and you have to have good mechanics. I mostly love it because I can run around with the football and try to make everyone on the other team look like they haven’t played a down of football in their life. Another part of football is teaching you how to work as a team. It teaches you how to support each other, help each other improve, and even get to know people. It also taught me a life lesson. You never truly do something all by yourself.
The best feeling in football is when you beat the person you’re going up against. Either juking someone out, or planting a Linebacker, or stripping the football out of someone’s hands. Those are some of the best feelings in the game, and that is what I strive to do every time I step onto the field.
