After The Season

A look back at my 8th grade year

I have been playing football for 4 years and this is my last year at the youth level. Next year, I will move on to high school football and play faster, stronger and more skilled opponents. I made a blog post at the beginning of the year about football and I would like to do a recap on my 8th grade season.
I am going to start off with my Fenn season. Going into the season, we were facing a lot of doubt and many people were saying we weren’t going to win a game this year. I started off at defensive end but eventually moved around to a couple other positions. This year was also my first year ever playing linebacker. Overall I believe we had a great season, and a fun one. Everyone on the team really bonded with each other and I’m going to have some great memories from the team. We really capped off our season well with a win against Dexter on the last play of the game.
Now for my LS (Lincoln-Sudbury) season. We had an absolutely phenomenal season. Everyone on the team was all great friends with each other and we all had so much fun. We went eight and two and beat a team we hadn’t beaten in three years. Our team won our league for the first time ever and we went all the way to a state championship. We unfortunately lost but everyone had fun and we were all extremely happy to even make it that far. Although I will not play with any of those guys next year, which is very sad for me, I will definitely keep in touch with them next year. As goes for all football teams, all the boys on the team I will have bonds with for life and that is something that is so rare and one of my favorite parts about football.
I had two great seasons and I was very happy with both of them. I can’t wait for football next year and all my new opportunities.
