Chores are an essential asset in forming the correct mindset in today’s youth. The chores I have been given by my parents have helped shape my mindset and form me into a more responsible young adult. One specific chore that I have to do quite often is washing my clothes. This is a chore that I grew up being used to my Mom doing for me.

I never truly appreciated what she did, because I had gotten accustomed to her occasionally swooping by to pick up my clothes, and then, magically, two hours later, they were back, nice and warm.

Without ever having had the experience of doing this “chore,” I wouldn’t have understood what should be expected of a regular day kid. These were chores that I would eventually be forced to do when I grew older, and I would no longer have the loving support of my mother to do them for me. It is best for me to begin these essential tasks now, before my mind is shaped into thinking that they would just be done for me, or they wouldn’t be done at all.

I know this might not sound like a big job, or you might not even consider it a chore, yet it is still crucial for me to get into the habit of doing my own jobs. I also did not realize how easy it was to work a washer and dryer, and I now realize that I should have been able to start this chore a long time ago. I am also beginning to understand why some people may have thought that it might be a good idea to taste a tide pod. (They look like packaged candy)

Although we may not consider these chores very important, it is still essential that we are exposed to the right habits before I mind is forged.

This was perfect. You described how doing chores as a kid is very important, which I agree with. Doing chores as a kid also builds up a work ethic and the will to work. I think you described this perfectly with your example, washing your clothes.

I liked the way you ended this piece. It was pretty funny when you said I get why people wanted to eat tide pods. I agree with you they do look like candy. I also agree that chores essential and we should all do them.
