Dear Admissions Committee,

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I still had homework left from the night before. I was not motivated and knew it would be a bad day unless I changed my approach. So I thought about being positive, having grit, and being kind. All good humans are positive, have grit, and be kind. I try to live out these qualities every day because it makes my life better and the people around me better.

The Power of Community

Community and the place it has in our lives

    Community is one of the best ways to feel supported. The boys at my camp made me feel like I was part of a community more than ever before. Throughout the year I go about doing whatever I want until the summer, when for the last five years I have returned to camp Kabeyun.

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian

Change and Friendship on the Rez.

In Diary of a Wimpy Kid books #5-8 Greg Heffley, the main character, is in ninth grade. Greg’s best friend is named Rowley. They have known each other for a long time. Their friendship has had some rough patches but they’ve always stayed together, even when they change individually. There is a similar situation in The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian with Junior and his friend Rowdy.
