I can’t believe our time is up. This final year has been crazy, I would say it ended as everyone expected and hoped, but at least we will be remembered well.

Being in this class for two years now has taught me so much. I’ve learned so many different writing techniques, different grammar usage, and how to properly write an essay/paragraph. Obviously, I will take those things away from this class, but what I’ll remember most about this class is how much fun we had. Some of my favorite memories were writing my story with Sam, The Podcast Crew, the classes where Fitz would leave to do something and wouldn’t come back until five minutes left in class, watching my classmates constantly get in trouble last year and trying to recite my WW Fenn in front of the class while all of my friends are staring directly at me. There are so many other memories that I’ve had from my two years in this class that I wouldn’t have enough time or space to talk about all of them.

I think as a student in general I’ve grown so much because of this. Every other class has everyone stuck behind a desk sitting there taking notes and listening. In Fitz’s class, we had the freedom to relax on a couch or in a chair and work with a friend or in a group on an assignment. In this class there wasn’t nearly as much listening to talk for an hour while teaching us something we may never even use in the real world it was more like following the limited guidelines there was on each assignment and even if you didn’t follow those guidelines as long as you had a good excuse or reason you were fine. One thing that you rarely ever see a teacher do is not follow the normal things to teach or the normal way to do it. Fitz couldn’t care less about whether he was teaching normal stuff or how he was teaching it. You could tell based off how every single assignment he gave us he made an entire sheet devoted to it that. Every week a few pages of assignments and every week a new sheet. You will never see another teacher do anything like this. All of this has changed me so much.

This class has helped me learn so much about myself as a person and as a student. Before this class, I knew that I liked to write stories, but it was from this class that I learned how to properly write a story. Projects like the big story we wrote earlier this year are part of the reason. They have given me the ability to write quicker and not worry too much about everything being perfect.

I’m excited for what the future may hold for me.
