My Start to 8th Grade

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.” – Dr. Seuss

So far school is going great. The first day of school was the hardest, probably like most kids. For some reason, I always get nervous for a new school year, even if I know all of my teachers.

I love all of my classes, except for one teacher. My summary of this person is that they are a really nice person, but not a good teacher. They don’t have a grasp on the students in the class. They have been getting better through, I know they have been trying very hard to do better. I think either Fitz or Mr. Barker is my favorite teacher. Fitz is awesome because I think he understands us as humans. He always has great thoughts. Mr Barker is suck a nice teacher too. At first, one might think he is boring, they would be like 15% right, but he also cares. When someone in the class is having trouble, he stops and makes sure they get the concept. Mr. Cribb is the same as last year. Full of cleverness and the thousand mile stare.  Mr ward is also great. Always getting the class involved. I personally think he has a lot on his plate though. Just a side note.

When to Be a Leader, and When to Be a Follower

My Experience At Windsor Mountain

As I stepped on to the teleportation planks, I hovered above the unknown. 10,000 feet is a long way to fall. The wind was blowing so hard, I almost tripped. One more step then I would safe on the mountain. When I made it, reality snapped back to me. I was 1 inch off the wood floor walking on a wood plank, “safe” on more wood. I realized in the moment that me not being a leader helped me cross between the high mountains. I don’t always have to be the leader. Being at Windsor Mountain showed me how sometimes you need to be a follower and how different Fenn is from other communities.

My Opinion On Fitz

C2FF502A-FFD9-4E44-B86E-58E17024C214

Another free write. Do I have to find another boring story that I extend, so I write for 15 excruciating minutes? The structured journal entries are the ones I liked. These need creativity, which Is sometimes hard. I guess I have already started this entry, so I am doing a self aware entry! I think il talk about Fitz today, even though he is the one skimming through this garbled mess (Hi Fitz!). I just write like he doesn’t know me.

My opinion on Fitz is that he is real. He knows much more about the world then I do, so I guess I look at him for wisdom. I love his quotes. Also his blunt facts that will hurt. “No one cares about you.” He is probably going to write in the comment box “Great writing!” It’s nice, but it seems too nice. Almost he’s like “This kids writing is crap. Il say nice stuff so he feels good about himself.” It probably is true I guess. He is overall pretty nice. Wow. That’s more writing than my last journal entrie. I tend to write more when I like the topic. For example, my 2nd entrie was 1100 words, and took me around 25 minutes. It is because I like explaining the dumb, specific rules of pool.

My Experience at Vegas

BBA16895-0677-4599-A65C-F9ADF9363145

One summer experience that I have done during my summer was going to Las Vegas for pool. I play billiards. I am nationally ranked. I had to go to Las Vegas for the National tournament. The flight there was sooooo long. It was around 6 hours. I wish that I had slept more, but I just went on my iPad. The hotel I stayed at was the South Point Hotel. The room was well sized. I was really excited about the tournament.

The tournament was in the convention center in the South Point. To get to our room, we had to cross the casino. This casino allowed smoking, so it always smelled like cigarettes. I had an extra day before the tournament, so I decided to go to another hotel. I think it was called New York .l?New York. I'm not sure. They had a roller coaster outside of the hotel, and I decided I would try it. We got there and the line was too long so I just explored the other parts of the hotel. We then went to dinner. It was an a-ok Mexican place. I got a dry burrito. I'm not sure why I can remember that but not the name of the hotel. Maybe I remembered that because it was a negative experience. I'm getting off-topic here anyway. The next day was the tournament day, so I had to go to bed so I could get well-rested.
